Women's Health & Pregnancy
Women's Health refers to comprehensive women’s health care as well as health issues that are unique to women, including:
- Pregnancy
- Menopause
- Conditions of the Female Organs
Be sure to get early and regular prenatal care to ensure you have a healthy pregnancy. You should also get recommended breast cancer, cervical cancer, and bone density screenings.
Our goal is to ensure the health and readiness of all women at every stage of life.
Women's Health Services
Our physicians provide obstetric and gynecological care to active duty women, retired military, dependent wives, and daughters on a referral basis.
We provide the following Women's Health services at U.S. Naval Hospital Naples:
- Prenatal care
- Labor and delivery (click here for a list of labor and delivery services)
- Routine gynecological care and surgical treatments as needed (birth control, abnormal bleeding, and many other conditions)
- Contraception Care
Due to our hospital’s limitations, pregnant patients with complications (some maternal medical conditions, delivery prior to 36 weeks gestation) will be transferred to a local Italian network provider to ensure the safety of the mother and baby.
We offer a full evaluation of infertility, but available treatment options are limited. We do not perform intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF). Since infertility is not a TRICARE-covered benefit, you do not need a referral to seek treatments not offered in our clinic. If you are treated by an infertility specialist, you must pay all associated costs.
How To Make an Appointment
Our appointments are scheduled by referral only. Please contact your Primary Care Manager for more information.
Availability of Services
Appointments: We make every effort to schedule your appointment in an appropriate time frame. Routine exams are scheduled within a few weeks to allow patients with more urgent needs to be seen in a shorter time frame. We value all our patients, and we appreciate that your time is valuable. Our goal is to see you for your appointment in a timely manner. However, circumstances arise daily which may compromise this. Please be understanding of obstetrical emergencies and deliveries that may require physicians to attend other patients.
Medication refills: If you need a refill of your medication, you may contact our office by phone or via Relay Health. Please allow 48 hours for this to be completed. Please be aware that outpatient medications are not filled on weekends or holidays.
Nurse calls: If you have a medical question that cannot wait for your appointment, you may leave a message for our nurse. Your call will be prioritized relative to all calls received. Urgent problems will be attended first. Calls of a less urgent nature will be answered within 72 hours. You may also contact us via Relay Health.
